Liskow is proud to announce that the firm has achieved Mansfield Rule Certification. The Mansfield Rule is a structured certification process available to law firms and legal departments that is designed to ensure women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities have a fair and equal opportunity to advance into leadership.
From July 2022 to July 2023, Mansfield evaluated the structural changes and proactive measures implemented by our firm to ensure our paths to leadership are accessible and transparent to all qualified lawyers. The process included tracking and considering a broad pool of talent for leadership, increasing transparency by internally publishing the criteria and processes for advancement to leadership, communicating career development and advancement opportunities widely, and sharing DEI knowledge and best practices with others in the legal community.
Participation in this program is just one of the numerous ways in which Liskow is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
About the Mansfield Certification Process
Mansfield’s methodology, which has proven to build more diverse leadership teams, is rooted in changes to systems and processes, not exclusivity or discrimination. Mansfield ensures that opportunities for advancement are inclusive by broadening talent pools instead of instilling quotas, set-asides, or requirements unrelated to an individual’s qualifications.
Focused on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities are inclusive, certified firms considered broad slates of qualified talent for leadership roles that included at least 30% historically underrepresented lawyers—such as women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities. In addition, as part of the Certification process, certified firms worked hard to enhance the transparency of their leadership roles, advancement processes, and compensation policies.
